Willow the Wonderer picture books are stories about wisdom and knowledge. Here's why.
Wise As Stories is unique amongst publishers world wide for a number of reasons, the most important of which is that we are creating stories that plant seeds of wisdom and knowledge. It is why Darren and I started Wise As Stories and produced and published Willow the Wonderer picture book series - and it's what keep us going. In this blog I wanted to share with you the backstory to this mission we've taken on. I've shared this in past blogs (here's the link to another ) b

Because every book has a song ...
It's a momentous day: Darren has started working on the very last spread for the third Willow the Wonderer picture book. The end is in sight! So when we reach milestones like this, it is very much a cause for celebration! (And in case any

Ever wonder what goes into making Willow plush toys that go along with our picture books?
I may be a tad biased, but I think Willow the Wondere r is the cutest donkey (wise ass) around town. So, of course we had to follow-up our beautiful picture books with a gorgeous character plush toy of little Willow. Last July we released our very first design. Hundreds of Willow plush toys have since found their way into homes all across Australia so I thought I'd share some of the work that went on behind the scenes to develop our first Willow plush toy. It was a labour o

The art and wisdom of creating Willow the Wonderer picture books
Clap! My hands, came together as I became fully aware that my life was finite and I would die some day. I was 10 years old. I remember thinking that I have only a limited time to achieve my life goals and so made a pact with myself that I would make haste, hopefully fulfill them and make death bring closure to my life with another clap. This action (clapping) I later surmised was my way of demarcating the movie of my life, much like a movie set clapperboard might punctuate th

Happy New Year! 2023 will be a year long celebration of life
We are back after a restful couple of weeks and looking forward to getting into 2023! Our motto for this year is to make it a year long celebration of life . This is as much about how we live each and every day as it is about the highlights. It should be another eventful year as we release the third book in the Willow the Wonderer picture book series, kick-off a few projects close to our heart (watch this space) and move to a fully remote model so we can run Wise As Stories
