Episode 1 : Our Origin Story
For our very first Wise As Podcast, we went back to where it all began - on pristine, sacred land, nestled in the heart of Nambucca Valley, in the Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia! This is where we (Darren and Reeta) first met and where we retreated to during COVID lockdowns in 2020.
(This episode was shot shortly before the broader Mid North Coast region was hit with devastating floods. Our hearts are with all our community up there.)
In this conversation, we recount the journey of creating 'Willow the Wonderer' and establishing our publishing venture, Wise As Stories. Starting from a conversation during the early days of the pandemic, we share our desire to craft stories imbued with timeless wisdom for children.
We discuss why now, five years (and five books) later, we are starting a podcast to share what we learnt and how it is all going. We also discuss why it is important to inspire a balance of perspectives, adapt to change, and use various mediums to share meaningful life lessons.
This is what future episodes on our podcast is going to profile: Conversations about life and living in our ever-changing world - And what it means for ordinary people, who like us, would like to leave the world in a better shape than we found it.
