The Chestnut Tree Bookshop
You have found a small locally owned business – an independent bookshop and café on the land of Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation (a.k.a. West Footscray).
We are here to offer book-lovers a sustainable and environmentally friendly way to devour as many books as they like while contributing to reforestation of Australia and the world.
Our dream is to become the heart of the community, a place where words of wisdom are shared (and read), where friendships are made, where the magic of children’s story time lingers while poetry readings and book clubs gather.
We have a wide range of general fiction and non-fiction, and if you can’t find what you’re looking for just let us know and we can order it in for you!
Wedged between a leafy abundance and a variety of cafes, Wayward Books is a small shop full of wonders — slightly larger than your usual cabinet of curiosities, we cater for most humours and a wide range of interests.
Little books of joy, books to feast your eyes on, books to transport you to other worlds, books to improve your knowledge, books to stretch your mind, odd books to satisfy the quirky — ecclectic and individual you may find them here.

The Paperback Bookshop is an independent, general bookshop that was established in the early 1960s at the top of Bourke street. The original charter of the shop was to stock paperback editions of books that were not commonly available in Australia.
We still stock such books, many of which have become classics but our interest is in good writing, wherever it's to be found. We have a particular focus on Australian writing and source new as well as established authors.
We stock an extensive selection of new release and backlist titles that cover a wide range of genres including; fiction, Australian non fiction, history, poetry, classics, music books, Philosophy, Politics and Current Affairs and Natural History. We are more than happy to source books that we don't keep in stock.

Located in the beautiful Gippsland region we are proud to support readers, writers, book browsers and curious minds from all sectors and every age group across this vast community.
Our dedicated staff are here to assist you to find the perfect book – whether it is the latest new release or a classic from a bygone era, we will do everything we can to help you get exactly what you need.
We proudly support our local libraries to ensure they have the most current titles in stock for the community to borrow. We also work closely with our educational sector to ensure students and teachers can access required texts, including booklist titles.
We are a small, award winning, single estate Vineyard, family owned and operated. Cannibal Creek Vineyard is one of the many award winning Gippsland winery restaurants in the region.
Our Modern-Australian style menu is complimented by our French style wines inspired by France’s most famous wine regions, Bordeaux and Burgundy. Most produce is sourced from local or Gippsland producers, supplemented by the onsite kitchen garden and growing orchard. Like our wine, our menu is designed for sharing, consisting of a tempting array of share plates and larger dishes.
Dine in our architecturally designed and family friendly restaurant, surrounded by beautiful art and yes, books, sourced from Australian artisans.
